Our senior management team consists of Ph.D.s and MBAs with experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device R&D methodologies and international business practices. Collectively, our senior management has more than 200 patents pending or granted, published more than 800 publications and has an average of 15 years of experience working in major international pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies. WuXi AppTec's primary China-based facilities include a 630,000-squarefoot R&D center in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone; a 220,000-square-foot process development/cGMP-quality manufacturing plant and a 350,000-square-foot expanded facility under construction in Jinshan area of Shanghai; and a 130,000-square-foot R&D center in Tianjin.  A 323,450-square-foot toxicology center is under construction in Suzhou.  We are well-positioned to capitalize on the advantages of conducting R&D in China, while emphasizing quality, responsiveness, protection of customer intellectual property, and reliability.  With the acquisition of the U.S.-based AppTec Laboratory Services, Inc. in January 2008, WuXi AppTec became a global R&D outsourcing company with operations in China and the U.S.  Our U.S.-based facilities are all FDA-registered, including a 83,000-square-foot R&D and manufacturing facility in St. Paul, Minnesota; a 46,000-square-foot testing facility in Atlanta, Georgia; and a 75,000-square-foot R&D, testing and manufacturing facility in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
