2025 WuXi AppTec Supplier Conference: Promoting Sustainable Supply Chain Development

As an integrated open-access capability and enabling platform, WuXi AppTec strives to establish a robust and sustainable value chain that supports our customers in accelerating the development of healthcare products, ultimately benefiting patients worldwide. As a Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI) Supplier Partner, WuXi AppTec adheres to the PSCI Principles and focuses on five key areas of engagement, including governance and management systems, ethics, labor and human rights, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection, aiming to foster a global community committed to driving responsible value chain.

WuXi AppTec has established a multi-tiered governance framework for sustainable supply chain management, aimed at enhancing the Company's capabilities of mitigating sustainability-related risks and ensuring the stability and resilience of the supply chain. The Sustainability Committee oversees the sustainable supply chain management initiatives and the related key projects. A cross-functional team, composed of members from the Supply Chain Management, STA Procurement, Compliance, EHS, and business units, is responsible for identifying and assessing sustainability risks within the supply chain, as well as developing and implementing the corresponding initiatives.

Under the clear governance framework, we are gradually improving our supplier selection and evaluation management mechanism. We conduct the evaluations based on business relevance and sustainability-related factors, focusing on country-specific risk, sector-specific risk, and commodity or service-specific risk to identify the significant suppliers. By referring to the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, EcoVadis sustainability ratings, and strictly adhering to WuXi AppTec's own supplier sustainability-related audit standards, we regularly evaluate the significant suppliers' impact on legal compliance, business ethics, labor and human rights, occupational health and safety, environmental protection, and business continuity.

To enhance effective communication and collaboration with the suppliers in achieving our sustainability goals, we recently held the "2025 Supplier Conference," which combined in-person and online formats. The conference attracted over a hundred significant suppliers, along with representatives from WuXi AppTec's Supply Chain Management, STA Procurement, and relevant departments. The core topics included an interpretation of WuXi AppTec's procurement policies, supplier performance management, ethics and compliance requirements, occupational health and safety standards, and sustainable supply chains initiatives. We shared own operational (Scope 1 and Scope 2) greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and value chain (Scope 3), greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals, alongside concrete action plans. Additionally, we recognized outstanding suppliers for their 2024 performance.

Beyond the own initiatives, we actively collaborated with customers on specialized projects focused on sustainable supply chain. This includes facilitating multiple annual trainings, technical supports, and sustainability-related audits for relevant suppliers each year. Annually, we provided target suppliers with over six months of dedicated sustainability technical guidance. Internally, we also conduct regular sustainability-related training for our purchasers, ensuring a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities in building a sustainable value chain.

In the future, we will continue to deepen the sustainable supply chain development, delivering greater value to customers through higher-quality services and more responsible practices, while contributing to the sustainable development of the global pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.
